Mystify Layout

A layout using Magic and fun flaps.  My girl friend and her girls and my girls and I went up to Big Bear last summer.  We had a great time, and I even took some pictures to capture our adventures.  I had several more pictures than I needed for a two page layout, but not enough for a second layout.  I compromised by adding a flip-flap thereby using the extra pictures.  :)

Left side of layout (no flaps)

Right side of layout (flap down)

This is the layout if there weren't any flip flaps used, and it's what it looks like when you turn the page to it.

Next we have the back side of the flap and what is on the base of the right side.

Right side with flap open
I chose to mimic the right side on the top flap.  You will notice that the far right of the base shows when the flap is closed (see above right picture).  And the back side of the flap mimics the left base but doesn't have the vertical strip.  I didn't have to mimic either pages but wanted that sense of continuity.  And if I had two vertical pictures I would have used them on the back side of the flap.  Since I didn't, I enlarged the horizontal picture and used it alone.

The Lucky paper packet was my choice here because it of the more masculine and outdoorsy feel.  I paired it up with some level 2 accessories -- left hand page and top flap highlight them mostly.  If you look carefully at the right base page you'll see a sunset tab sticking out behind the upper right picture.  That is a pull for an additional picture behind!
